Dubai Media City is a place where you can look for an advertising job. Almost all advertising companies situated in Dubai, especially in Media City, on a regular basis lookout for good designers, visualizers, graphic artists, copywriters, etc. Media City has an awesome infrastructure to support any kind of media related businesses, so a lot many advertising agencies have made it their base. Looking out for a job in 3D modeling, animation or exhibition related services in Dubai? Don’t worry, you are in the right place. But beware, there may be agencies where it is easy to get a job but harder to get any salary. So cross checking the reputation might help.
If you are looking for a job then , these tips might help. Smear a kilogram of gel in your hair and comb only straight towards backside. Walk like you are part drifting and part dancing. Hold two mobile phones along with a bulky purse and a Marlboro cigarette pack in one single hand. Wear long shoes imitating crocodile skin and very very tight pants. Dear Siraj,
I dont want to dishearten you, but that should not stop me from telling you the truth. Siraj, first you are working in PIXAR and that’s is good. After coming to Dubai, where do you think you will find work? In PIXAR? It will be very very difficult for you to find a job in similar companies here. People come to Dubai media city to get job in companies like PIXAR, not vice versa. My personal knowledge is that animation jobs are hard to find in media city. It may be aplenty in the future, but not now.
Secondly, media jobs are hard to find here in UAE now. Blame it on recession, but i think it is not the right time to look for one.

Almost all the good agencies are here. To be frank, as far as i know, to get good assignments will be a challenge in the beginning. But slowly you can pick up. Making money is easy after that.

Sorry for the delay in answering. The 3D guys i know work in interact agencies making animations for real estate companies. I still have not met here a hardcore animation guy who works for a PIXAR type of company. The average salary depends on the company but the guys i know get 12,000 Dhs to 14,000 Dhs with around 3yrs exp.

Mani, i don’t want to give you wrong information. If you want to be a model in UAE, it is better that you come here and try. It may be difficult to find a place here by trying from INDIA. Your starting period may be a bit tough if you are not very lucky,but slowly you can pick up. But in this volatile industry, luck plays a huge part. My wishes.

Dear Ashraf,
There are many possible answers to your question. I will tell you what I follow and think is true.
Dress codes depend very much on our professions. A banker shall not dress like a rat exterminator and a priest shall never dress like a ghetto rap star. Like that, a computer animation artist does not have to dress in a three piece suit. You can go to interviews in your casuals. It’s not a problem and you will see you fit in well that way, especially if it is an MNC.
But a word of caution! Dubai is all about looks and style. It is a place where you will be judged by the car you drive, the watch you wear and the shirt you wear. It is ok to wear casuals, but make sure that you dress well and stylish.
Unfortunately style matters. Often here, it matters much.
